Why is it when I can't sleep I come up with stuff to write down?! Well, good enough I guess. Something's got to fill up space around here! Hee! So, here's something I was thinking about.
My boyfriend Dagger got chatting with Bluish Feather earlier, whose work you can see here: bluishfeather.deviantart.com/
Bluish Feather is someone I don't REALLY know, but whose work is much liked around the house because it's frikkin' ADORABLE. When you have a house with four women in it and only one guy who is a Jem and the Holograms fan, that counts. So we're collectively fans of Bluish Feather's art in general, and he does tickling themes as well, which ranges from cute to comical. Add in nice bright colours and a generally positive look, and you have fun and bright stuff that's at the light end of my general alley. Go check it out! His OC Kitty is pretty much the avatar of the word 'cute' in my head right now...... and there's been some indication of a return to activity here! Yay!
One thing that came up, as often happens, is that I was recognized under the name and Kelly as well, for of course BoundPretties' lovely image set of us here: boundpretties.deviantart.com/g…
Bluish Feather noted that it was neat to talk to 'celebrities', which was more I think for a lack of other words at the time. Flattering, yes, but it has been nagging at the back of my head. What does it take to BE a celebrity around here? I mean, some of the artists around here have published works! My good friend Steve O. Reno and delightful story-smith Shiniez for example, the former with three books of pinup gals and the latter with the now completed Sunstone comic and others soon to come. Check them out to, they're awesome! And I think they definitely count as celebrities because I know people who have never even SEEN Deviantart and yet know their handles!

Others are pros, you can see their work in multiple avenues if you look, such as The Saint, aka Bound To Please. He does work in a variety of venues, and is a great fellow to chat with. He's also a high quality artist with a great style of his own. Look him up here: bound-to-please.deviantart.com… This is a man who makes a living at art, so is truly a professional artist. Does that make him a celebrity? I hope so, he deserves it!
Of course everyone knows and loves some artists. BoundPretties is a perpetual fan pleaser, with a wonderful gallery and amazing turnaround time on commissions. He's easily found right here! boundpretties.deviantart.com/ His artwork is well thought out, fun to see, and expressive as heck, with enough cartoony quality to make it enjoyable. Awesome, and definitely a celeb in my books given the number of people that flipped when he was temporarily off the site! In a similar vein is Jam Orbital, another fun and colourful artist with a loyal fan base and plenty of fun characters, whose work you can see just over here: jam-orbital.deviantart.com/ Both celebrities of a kind as well, and well deserved. They've done a lot of work.
Well, they're all well known and well represented. Most of the above are published, all are beloved by fans across the 'net. I'd have to say they're definitely celebrities! But...... when did they cross that invisible threshold?
Is it the number of people who have heard of you that makes it count? How famous you are? Is it what work you did? Can one image make you a celebrity?
There are some awesome artists out there building awesome world in comics. Two come to mind right off: Alexichabane, who has the Senya-verse with an absolutely amazing amount of fluff and lore behind the comic (over here: alexichabane.deviantart.com/ ), and Eio-Eio-Eio, who writes the hilariously zany and still serious world of Semi-Auto Selma (and who I recommend you check out here: eio-eio-eio.deviantart.com/ ). I think both attract enough attention to be 'celebrities' but why? Where's the line?!
Then I got thinking, there's another on here I know is a sort of retired celebrity around the site, and the inspiration for my fan-poll series of images thanks to a clever comic idea she attempted: Tasha Polecat! She was part of the Chainsman Institute, which was a HUGE multi-artist creative venture that was a major stop for a lot of lovers of the BDSM back a while ago. Her work is quite fun and while she hasn't put much on her profile lately, I still recommend a check in here: tcpolecat7.deviantart.com/gall…
Then I got pondering about it and thought: well, some CHARACTERS are celebrities. For example, I have seen the pink haired elf Karen pop up in more than a few places, the OC of Karen Gaianni (karengaianni.deviantart.com/). And then there's.....
And then I finally hit the brakes and facepalmed. The common thread of all these celebrities? Me. I've HEARD of them. I like, respect, or enjoy them. Sure, most people consider a celebrity to be someone super popular, widely known, and so on. But, really, did I care? People abuse english like nobody's business these days. So, I've decided on something. To me, on this site, you're a celebrity in my books if I can find someone else to talk to who has a valid opinion about you. If they care enough about your work to have an opinion they care to discuss, you're a celebrity enough to me. Creator, character, writer, artist, doesn't matter. And what's the end result of this?
I know a heck of a lot of celebrities! Hee! But also, by writing this, and by mentioning them, hopefully I can spread their celebrity a little further. Because it's not a static thing. The moment someone has heard of you, you are a celebrity. It only takes ONE person, because 'celebrity' isn't a thing you can just quantify. I was thinking of it in terms of 'a person who is famous' and forgetting the word also means 'a measure of fame'. So, go dig through your list of favorites and introduce me or someone else to some celebrities! Naturally mine MOSTLY revolve in some way around the BDSM lifestyle or art thereof, but hey..... this place has a huge number of artists making beautiful, intelligent, inspiring, and just plain weird art. Be it your own or someone else's, remember, celebrity is a thing you can help spread a little more at your whim. It's not hard, just mention it! Here's one: White Raven Lord, good friend of mine, lots of interests, HUGE storehouse of lore and fluff on things, lovely writer. Find him here: whiteravenlord.deviantart.com/
There's others: GBeeee, HK881, the massively famous Genzoman, IDarkshadowI, Reptileye, Phantomdotexe, DanteWontDie, the non-BDSM comic writer Mr-Culexus, heck Harry Partridge has a page here! What do these people all have in common? Well, you've heard of them now, so they have just a little more celebrity. And I think they're all worth checking out. I'd post links but I'm getting tired. Time for me to flare out.
Remember to keep it safe, sane, and consensual! Browse responsibly! And hey...... go ahead and start considering me and Kelly celebrities! We don't mind! Hee!

A little D and D chat about Class
So, recently my pal Trev (TheTrevor here on DA) and I had a chat. Well, a series of long notes. I have been getting worn out on fantasy gaming and the like for a decade and every once in a while I need to be reminded why it's still worth digging into. A recent Pathfinder game with my friends and gaming group run by Achast and fellow player Whiteravenlord did a lot to remind me why I had fun with things, but also this discussion brought up an important thing about Classes..... namely that they don't actually work how many people think they do. Let's look over a couple revelations about what classes, in our old school experience, are ACTUALLY meant to do, shall we? Let's look at the staples.... weird wacky stuff tends to change a lot. So first off, the classic default for many players: the Thief. Thieves, or Rogues as people prefer now because thief is 'bad' I guess, are there to do two things: get stuff everyone else can't, and introduce peoples' insides to their outsides in very
Only War - First Campaign Finale!
Well, Octant Squad has done it again. After securing enemy supply drops and wiping out a force sent to get them AND discovering an old Imperial base, they returned home hale and hearty... and were rejoined by Operator Torque (Achast), paired up again with his old troublemaker pal/arsonist precog Echo (WhiteRavenLord)! They are joined by Karadoc, a largely insomniac trooper, and Commissar Streik, a very loud woman, replacing their losses. And while everyone else closed in on the Severan Dominate forces in their fortress, these lucky fellows got to go investigate a series of canyons deep in the mountains where odd activity had been seen on orbital scans. With standard gear and a voxcaster in hand.... wait, what's this? They went to get a voxcaster, and also got a weird box! Lyndon, the NPC who lucked out on the roll, came to the Psyker, Echo, to see if he could help figure it out (he's proven to be fairly insightful at times). Meanwhile as this happened (technically just before)
Only War Campaign, round 6!
Well, some interesting events and crap rolls on my part! Let's have a look see.... Players are WhiteRavenLord, and Achast, playing respectively Echo the Diviner/Pyrmomancer psyker and Roland the Armsman today (Operator Torque, Achast's usual character, is still out with sudden onset horror-plague). The party, geared up with a demo charge and a melta bomb, were sent out to find and either destroy or claim a stash of Severan Dominate gear in an effort to ensure that, after the fall of their enemy's fortress, they won't have supplies for any survivors to make trouble with! The party marched for DAYS, noting a lack of saurian herds and wondering what that meant, but also noting it was a lot more dry thanks to the ending of the deluge of rain they'd been dealing with for days on end. It made for a long march with not a lot to see.... and Roland, a rather enthusiastic fellow, was happy to sing marching songs, making poor Echo lament the loss of their first heavy Heskel and his angelic
